Symptoms |
When trying to retrieve any job, it fails, saying that the restored version of the file does not match the latest archive. All the files will change to "online and previously archived". NOTE: This problem will affect all the files that you retrieve, if there is only one or two files having problem with this error, but the retrieval files change to current system date and time, please refer to tech note "Retrieve fails "Restored version of the file ... differs from the latest archive" The last modified date time of the file changed to the current system date and time". |
Cause |
1. The system does not check for automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes. 2. The system time zone has changed; the modification date in the database does not match the date and time of the file. |

Solution |
For cause 1: Check the Automatically ajust clock for daylight saving changes on Date/Time Properties. Stop and Restart ParchRet.JTP. For cause 2: We have a script to update the database to match the time zone change. Contact the Archiver SME for the solution to this problem. The solution involves updating a few tables and identifying time zone differences. We need to identify the old time zone, and when they change it to set the script to update the database to the appropriate date and value. The script only works for jobs that were archived before changing the time zone and never retrieved after changing the time zone. i.e. if there is a job that was archived before the changing the time zone and retrieved, the job will still fail with the error. The file can still be retrieved by setting the retrieve process plan to continue error and warning, and the file must be re-archived in order to purge the job.
