Error |
"Handler Fault Not Clear 35-17066-1103" ENTER to Continue" |
Symptoms |
When attempting to inject or eject a tape from a Qualstar TLS 4000 series library, the library hangs with the error "Handler Fault Not Clear 35-17066-1103" ENTER to Continue" displayed on the front panel. The library may also generate a continuous series of warning beeps. Pressing the Enter key on the front panel does not clear the fault. |

Cause |
A tape is incorrectly placed in the picker. The tape may be crooked or misaligned. Most likely, it is simply partially inserted into the picker. |

Solution |
1) Open the library door and remove the tape from the picker. 2) Press the ENTER key on the front panel. The library will likely generate a "Source empty" error as it attempts to place the tape no longer in the picker. 3) Pressing ENTER again should clear this second error. 4) If the error was caused by inserting the tape improperly into the IO Port, simply re-try the operation. 5) If the error occurs more than once, check the firmware revision of the library. In firmware revision 210, the picker pauses at the library IO port very briefly, making it difficult to fully insert the tape into the picker. Firmware version 211 and higher introduces a pause for the user to insert or remove a tape. Customers experiencing the "Handler fault not clear" error on a regular basis should ensure that they have the updated firmware. Permanent fix: |
