Symptoms |
If you try to retrieve a job that is archived on a tape no longer known to the RSM, or the tape is disabled, you get a "file is not archived" warning, and the retrieve fails. |
Cause |
The history message is not clear to indicate the tape is not known to RSM or the tape is disabled in RSM that causing retreive to fail. | |
Solution |
1. If the tape is disable, enable it in RSM, and then retrieve again. Or 1. If the tape that required to retrive is not known to RSM, i.e. the tape does not show up in any media pools in RSM, insert the tape to retrieve in the drive or tape library. 2. The tape will show up in import\pool, move the tape to the application pool. 3. Stop and Restart Archiver JTP to update the status of the tape to idle, allocated. 4. Retrieve the job again. Permanent Fix : v2.1 If you disable a tape, retrieve task will state "waiting for medium to be enabled". Once you enable the tape, the task will resume. If the tape is not shown up in RSM, the error message will indicate that the medium you trying to retrieve the job is missing. Permanent fix: |
