Error |

Symptoms |
1. Prinergy installer hangs trying to start OracleServiceCreo. 2. Unable to start OracleService from Service panel. 3. Unable to connect to Oracle; error "Oracle unavailable". |

Cause |

|
|

Solution |
1. Kill ORACLE.EXE from the Task Manager. 2. Set the registry value \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\FOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOME0\ORA_creo_AUTOSTART to FALSE. 3. In a command window, type: - svrmgrl - connect internal/creo - startup 4. Run Prinergy installer. It will recreate OracleStarter service, whose sole purpose is to tell Oracle to mount and open the database, instead of having the OracleServiceCreo service do this. This works around the Oracle bug.
