Error |
Problem had been reported that failover sometimes does not successfully complete, wherein some secondary servers do not appear in the failover UADM. This had been seen in Mohn and was also reproduced in the lab. This problem can occur when secondaries or renderstations are added after configuring the EPM+ server. The NodeList in the EPM+ server registry will not have the newly added servers. |
Symptoms |
Upon switching to failover mode, the UADM on the EPM+ server has some servers missing. On those missing secondaries, the UADM will show that the secondary still belongs to the original primary and will only display the original Primary and itself. The servers show in the EPM+ server UADM\Tools\Configure System. When reverting back to normal mode, an error pop-up appears that switching back to secondary can only be done while all servers are stopped. |
Cause |
If a secondary is not listed in the NodeList of the EPM+ server prior to failover, the secondary's registry is not updated on failover. | |

Solution |
Workaround while on Normal Mode: 1. Shutdown Prinergy 2. From a command prompt in the EPM+ server: run ConfigEPServer -p <PrimaryServerName> -l <path to logfile> e.g. ConfigEPServer -p YCS-12345 -l d:\ 3. Start Prinergy and resume normal operation. Workaround while on Failover Mode and the problem is encountered: 1. Go to the secondary servers or the renderstations which doesn't show up in the EPM+ UADM. 2. Using regedt32, go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Creo\Araxi\Settings\Default\System. 3. Change the Registry Value PrimaryNodeName to the EPM+ server name. Alternatively, you can add the secondary to the EPM+ Primary server through the UADM from the secondary. 4. Relaunch UADM. Permanent fix: |
