Symptoms |
In MediaManager, the media type for both the pools and the media show up as 'unrecognized media type'. It should be DLT. In RSM, they look normal. |

Cause |
The MediaManager UI does not show media types if RSM is not running/available when the PArchiveD.exe starts up. PArchiveD.exe has a cache that it populates at startup which contains the media type strings. If the RSM is not available at startup, then the cache is not populated and the PArchiveD.exe will send the "unrecognized media type" string to the MediaManager UI for everything. |

Solution |
Kill PArchiveD.exe daemon in Task Manager once RSM is up and when it automatically restarts, it will populate its cache successfully. Permanent fix: |
