Symptoms |
Pantone colors are displayed incorrectly in Acrobat 5 when Overprint preview is ON. For example, a red color is displayed as green. Proofs and final output look fine, as does the Acrobat display when overprint preview is disabled. |
Cause |
Acrobat 5 is used with overprint preview ON and the PDF was refined through a Prinergy system that has a L*a*b PANTONE database. Acrobat 5 has a bug that prevents proper display of spot colors that do not have CMYK recipes when overprint preview is used. | |
Solution |
1. Uncheck Overprint Preview under the View menu in Acrobat. 2. Change the Prinergy color database to use a CMYK PANTONE database. (Warning, this should NOT be done if the customer is using color management) Permanent fix: |
