Symptoms |
An object has its overprint state set to OFF and appears to knockout in Adobe Acrobat, but when viewed in the Creo Trapper's Separations view or the Prinergy Separations Viewer, the object overprints. When output to VPS or plate, the object also overprints. |
Cause |
The object has a Transfer function attached to it that causes its appearance to simulate an overprint on output. Adobe Acrobat 5 does not take into account the Transfer function in its Overprint Preview. To verify that this is indeed what is causing the problem, select the object with the PitStop selection tool and check the Prepress tab of the Inspector. If there is an entry beside "Transfer", then this is likely the cause of your problem. |

Solution |
Remove the Transfer function. This can be done in the original application or by using a PitStop action list. To create such an Action List: 1. Open the Action List Panel from Adobe Acrobat's Window Menu. 2. Click New. 3. Click Add. 4. In the Selection tab, click Select All and click Add. 5. In the Changes tab, click Remove Transfer function and click Add. 6. Click Close and then OK 7. In the Executing tab, select "Remove Transfer Function" and click Execute. Permanent fix: |
