Error

Symptoms

When Proofing JTP's running on different machines have been configured with different licensing options, a Process Plan opened in the PPED that refers to a JTP Pool containing these mis-matched JTP's will not show any of the screening options (Round, Elliptical, Euclidean, etc.) or available linescreens (100, 133, 150, etc.) in the drop-down lists.

Cause

The PPED gets its information from each JTP in a proofing pool which is up at the time a process plan is opened. If the JTP's do not have congruent licensing options and use the same .DLL's, then there is a mismatch and the PPED chooses to use the "safe" choice of showing no options at all, other than the settings that are already in the process plan. Warnings will only show up to alert the user to this fact when they try to use the Process Plan, and even then only if the settings in the Process Plan are not available on the JTP that is assigned to process the task.

Solution

There are a few ways to work around and/or solve this situation.

Solution:

1. Fix the licensing mismatch between the JTP's. The licensing options should be the same across all JTP's anyway.

Workarounds:

1. Switch from using a JTP Pool to using individual JTP's, and re-open the Process Plan. This will force the PPED to use just the screen sets and linescreens available in that particular JTP, and they will all show up as being available in the pull-down lists.

2. Manually type in the screen set and linescreen you want. This requires that you type the name *exactly* as it would appear, with all capitalization and spelling, in the drop-down list if it were available. For example, if you know that EllipticalIP is the set you want to use, and that it's available on all of the JTP's, you can type it in manually. Ditto for linescreens. If you get the name wrong, or the linescreen wrong, you'll get an error when you try to use the Process Plan. If you get it right, all will work just fine.
