When using color combiner, the image quality is poor. |

Cause |
Prinergy color combiner is a component of the Proofing JTP. It is used to convert spot colors to process. It is also used when generating grayscale output. The feature is enabled from the output process plans. The Prinergy color combiner technology uses stochastic masks to simulate spot colors using the process donors. However, not all media is capable of supporting stochastic dots (the dot is too small for the media to retain it). Therefore, we have to be sure that any customers who are planning to use the color combiner technology are aware that it will only function on media that is capable of supporting stochastic dots. This is of particular interest to customers who have a CreoScitex Spectrum or Kodak Approval Classic/XP4. This is a significant feature for these devices because typically there is not a spot color donor available for the particular spot color. |
