Error |

Symptoms |
The following message is displayed every time you open a process plan that uses a printer share: "The current pathname "//<servername>/<printershare>" in parameter "CPC_OutputDestination" does not exist or is a printer name." |
Cause |
The Prinergy 1.1 PPED cannot validate *any* printer path, whatever syntax used, but it only issues the warning if the path appears to be a properly formatted absolute path (beginning with //) and otherwise just skips validation. The validation itself is a call to a server process, which, in 1.1, cannot validate a printer path, just real files and directories. |

Solution |
There is no workaround for this problem. Do not hand edit the process plans to change the printer paths. In Prinergy 2.0, it will validate the path, but to avoid long delays the servercalls are skipped when the path as contained in the /CPC_OutputDestination key does not begin with //. So if you edit the path to \\'s it will cause problems when you upgrade to Prinergy 2.0. "Submit as multiple print jobs" box will be grayed and unavailable because validation will be skipped.
