Symptoms |
A scaled duotone EPS with pantone and black refines to CMYK. To reproduce the problem: 1. Take a greyscale TIFF into Photoshop 5.5. 2. Convert it to a duotone with Black and Pantone 294 CV (the color does not matter). 3. Save this file as an EPS. 4. Place it on a Quark 4.11 document, once in a picture box at 100% and again in a picture box scaled at 30%. 5. Print to a PostScript file and take it into Prinergy. 6. Refine and do not convert to process: the 100% file is OK and the 30% is converted to CMYK. Again, both of these are from exactly the same EPS file. |

Solution |
You can save the 30% file scaled in Photoshop and place this as a second image. It refines correctly. Prinergy 2.0 works correctly without using the workaround. Permanent fix: Prinergy 2.0 |
