Symptoms |
When you launch Prinergy Update Wizard it reports the following error: Error -214746238. The server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect. Check the username and password. |

Cause |
A bug was discovered and is under investigation. Prinergy Update Wizard uses distributed communication (DCOM) to communicate with Prinergy nodes. The DCOM server, ppuservice, is installed by the Prinergy Installation Wizard and is set up to use the same account as the Araxi service. |

Solution |
To change the ppuservice account: 1. From the command line, type dcomcnfg. The Distributed COM Configuration Properties windows is displayed. 2. From the applications tab double-click on ppuservice. The Properties window is displayed. 3. In the Indentity tab, select The interactive user and click Apply. Close the DCOM window. You must repeat this on every server. Before running Prinergy Update Wizard you must log in using the Araxi service account. Permanent fix: |
