Error |
running backup gives an exception indicating that it is trying to loop over a non-sequence object |
Symptoms |
backup of oracle fails |
Cause |
the python script which reads the initcreo.ora parameters does not recognize comments. As a result it is returning the comments with the value. For example, it would return "E:\ORANT\ORACLE\ARCHIVEDLOGFILES #some comment" rather than E:\ORANT\ORACLE\ARCHIVEDLOGFILES |
Solution |
Ensure that all comments in the initcre.ora file are on their own lines. For example the initcreo.ora should say : #Added by Prinergy log_archive_dest = E:\ORANT\ORACLE\ARCHIVEDLOGFILES rather than log_archive_dest = E:\ORANT\ORACLE\ARCHIVEDLOGFILES # added by prinergy Permanent fix: |
