Error |
CAU could not complete the update. The log file can be found..." Log file contains entries like this: "Unable to create backup for <some workshop jar file> because the file may be currently in use." |
Symptoms |
While attempting to update Prinergy Workshop, the client auto updater (CAU) reports that it cannot complete the update. When you open the Log file, there are entries saying that it was unable to create backups of some files because they are in use. |

Cause |
There are two instances of the Workshop running. Sometimes, double-clicking on the Workshop icon doesn't appear to do anything (because it's sometimes a little slow to launch). Users will then double-click again, launching a second instance of the Workshop. Even if it’s only a second login dialog box hidden behind other windows, if you open Workshop again you will get this error. |

Solution |
Ensure that only one instance of the Workshop is running when performing updates. Permanent fix: |
