Symptoms |
Sometimes one or more supported variable marks is placed in the imposition template using Preps or SignaStation, but instead of the variable marks being replaced with their values, they are simply missing from the output. For example, variable marks $[ResolutionY]-$[ResolutionX] are placed in your imposition template. After output, $[ResolutionY] is replaced with its value, but $[ResolutionX] is not replaced with any value. Instead, it is simply missing from the output. |

||
Cause |
Variable marks $[ResolutionX]-$[ResolutionY] has no spaces in between '$[ResolutionX]', '-', and '$[ResolutionY]'. The Marks JTP parses variable marks by searching through the imposition PDF file word by word, so variable marks must be surrounded by spaces. When there are no spaces, Marks JTP can't parse variable marks properly; this in turn results in variable marks missing or wrongly replaced in the output. |

Solution |
When creating imposition templates using Preps or SignaStation, always make sure that variable marks are surrounded by spaces. Permanent fix: |
