Symptoms

Nightly Oracle database backups are failing. If you run OracleBackupManager at the command prompt, the script fails with the error 'Invalid argument'.

Cause

Either the D:\Orant\Creo\Config\OracleBackupParameterV2.dbm or D:\Orant\Creo\Config\OracleBackupTimes.dbm file is corrupted.

Solution

Move the files out of the Config folder and start OracleBackupManager. OracleBackupManager will create a new set of files with default parameters.

NOTE: You MUST reconfigure the OracleBackupManager parameters according to the customer's backup options.

For Prinergy 1.1, these options are Basic, Offline or Online Backup.

For Prinergy 2.0, all systems are configured for Online Backup.

* IMPORTANT * Ensure the Backup_Destination and Backup_Start_Hour parameters are correctly set.
