Symptoms |
Oracle database backups fail when using Online Backup with Legato Business Suite Module. The following error message appears in the D:\Win32App\NSR\Logs\Daemon.log: ...SYSTEM Error, Access Violation - unknown host: 127.0.0.1 |
Cause |
Someone has removed the '127.0.0.1 localhost' entry from the Hosts file (\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\Hosts file). Legato uses the loopback address 127.0.0.1. If the loopback entry it is missing from the Hosts file, certain functions in Legato may fail. | |
Solution |
Insert the loopback entry at the beginning of the Hosts file: In \WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\HOSTS, add: 127.0.0.1 localhost After adding the localhost entry into the Hosts file, stop and restart the Networker Backup and Recover Server service. Permanent fix: |
