Symptoms |
The Legato registration may become invalidated when the network card is replaced or if the IP address is changed. When this occurs, the system backups will fail. |
Cause |
Legato uses the TCP/IP address for registration. If the IP address is changed, the Host ID parameter in Legato changes and causes the software registration to become invalid. If the network card is replaced and the same IP address used, Legato may become de-registered but the Host ID parameter will not change. |

Solution |
If the IP address is changed, new authorization code(s) must be obtained from Legato. New authorization codes must be obtained for each licensed option, for example - Networker, Business Suite Module, and the Jukebox option. If the network card is replaced, re-enter the authorization code(s). To enter the authorization code: 1) Open Networker Administrator. 2) Click the Registration button. 3) Double-click the Networker, Turbo 4 (or Turbo 10). 4) Enter the authorization code (Auth code). 5) Click OK to save. 6) Open all the other options, such as the Business Suite Module or Jukebox and enter the appropriate authorization codes for those modules.
