Symptoms

In Prinergy 2.0, system backup occurs daily. However, there may be some situations in which the customer may not want to perform a tape backup on specific days.

Before Prinergy 2.0.4 patch 19 was introduced, the backups would fail if the tape was not changed every day. Patch 19 obsoletes the requirement for changing the tapes every day. However, the user may wish to avoid doing system drive backups on the weekend to accomodate a full RAID backup.

Solution

To allow the customer to customize the backup, download the PrinergyBackup.zip file attached and put the contents into the D:\Ora816\Creo\Util folder. Replace the existing SuccessfulBackup.cmd script with the new one.

The Holidays.txt file contains a list of the days that the shop will be closed for holidays. This file should be edited before use.

It curerntly disables the backups on Christmas day, Boxing Day, and New Year's day. These entries should be deleted if the customer wishes to perform backups on those days.

NOTE: The backups are disabled in the script by default. Instructions on how to set up which days to enable/disable the backup are contained in the new SuccessfulBackup.cmd script. Open the script in Notepad and read the instructions before installing the script.
