Symptoms |
After uninstalling and possibly reinstalling a major update, the JTPs on the secondary servers fail to start. They may show the status of starting or restarting. |
Cause |
The major update makes changes to the \Winnt\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts file. Thus it will back it up into the Uninstall folder. When the major update is uninstalled, the original Hosts file is restored. If the customer has made changes to the IP addresses after the major update was installed, the changes to the Hosts file will be lost when the major update is uninstalled. | |

Solution |
1. Open each \Winnt\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts file in Notepad on all Prinergy servers and update them with the proper IP addresses. The primary server should have the IP address of each secondary server, and the secondary servers should have the IP address of the primary. 2. After the Hosts files have been updated, ping the primary server by name from each secondary and ping the secondaries from the primary. Permanent fix: |
