How to identify which group a job is in

Product

  Prinergy 1.1; Prinergy Connect 2.0

Platform

Operating system

Error

Symptoms

The customer tries to create a new job, but the job with the same name already exists. The customer cannot locate the existing job in Job Finder if it is buried within some group or nested groups.

Cause

Solution

In Prinergy 2.0.7.11, the customer can run the FindJob database report to locate the job. The FindJob report will display the group path for the job.

In Prinergy 2.0.4 and 2.0.5, and 2.0.7 (before 2.0.7.11) the database report is called SearchJob.

Database reports were not available in Prinergy 1.1. To find the job in Prinergy 1.1 system, use the script "ShowJobGroup.cmd" provided. (This script will also work in Prinergy 2.0.)

Copy ShowJobGroup.cmd and ShowJobGroup.sql to a folder and run it from a command prompt window.

*EXAMPLE:

* D:\Users\Stan>ShowJobGroup

* ***********************************

* * Display which group a job is in *

* ***********************************

*

* Enter job name or partial job name (press ENTER for all jobs): NewMex

* Jobname: NewMexico-2.0.7.13-Dec11

* in group(s): RegressionTest_Dec11\BrianL - NewMexico\

* Jobname: PreJob-NewMexico-2.0.7.13-Dec11

* in group(s): RegressionTest_Dec11\BrianL - NewMexico\

*

* D:\Users\Stan>
