Error |

Symptoms |
The system backup script is not "rolling over" the backup log files correctly. The backup script is only rolling between two log files - the AraxiSystemBackup.log file and the highest numbered log file in the folder. |
Cause |
One of the intermediate backup log files is missing. The system backup log files are kept in the %AraxiHome%\CreoAraxi\System\Log\Backup folder. The current backup file is called AraxiSystemBackup.log and the older backup log files are named AraxiSystemBackup01.log to AraxiSystemBackup09.log. If one or more of the log files from AraxiSystemBackup01.log to AraxiSystemBackup08.log are missing, the backup script will not roll over to the next log file correctly. This problem may occur if the backup hangs. The subsequent backup will delete the oldest numbered log file and attempt to rename the current log (AraxiSystemBackup.log) file to the same name as the deleted log file (AraxiSystemBackupNN.log). The renaming of the current log file will fail since it is held open by the previous backup. |

Solution |
You can fix this problem in one of two ways. 1) Remove all the log files from the %AraxiHome%\CreoAraxi\System\Log\Backup folder. The backup script will create new log files after each system backup. 2) Create dummy log file(s) using the name of the missing log file(s). If the highest numbered log file is less than AraxiSystemBackup09.log, just ensure all the log files between AraxiSystemBackup01.log to the highest numbered log file exist. Permanent fix: |
