Error |
Prinergy Updates 2.0.7.9 to 2.0.7.13 do not automatically install the new version of the Trap Editor plugins that were created for 2.0.7.9. The plugin still needs to be installed manually by copying it from the server to the client. For 2.0.7.9 and 2.0.7.10, this was expected, but for 2.0.7.11, 12 and 13, one would have expected the trap editor plugin to have been updated automatically by the Client Auto Updater (CAU) utility that is invoked from the Workshop login dialog button. |

Symptoms |
Prinergy minor update 2.0.7.9 introduced the concept of the Client Auto Update utility into workshop, which would subsequently allow the automatic upgrade from Workshop of the workshop.jar file for future minor updates. However, there was a new version of the Trap Editor plugin with the 2.0.7.9 minor update that still needed to be updated manually. This was specified explicitly in the readme.txt posted with 2.0.7.9. Prinergy minor update 2.0.7.11 added additional capabilities to the Client Auto Update utility to allow it to update plugin files as well as the Workshop.jar file. In fact, 2.0.7.11 automatically installed the new version of the separation plugin automatically. The update should also have included the update of the 2.0.7.9 version of the trap editor, but it did not. Similarly, the 2.0.7.13 minor update, which again allowed the automatical update of the workshop and separations plugin, should have included the Trap Editor plugin, but it did not. |

Cause |
The trap editor plugin available in 2.0.7.9 should have been added the the CAUParams.dat file for 2.0.7.11 and 2.0.7.13, but it was not. | |

Solution |
If you are installing 2.0.7.9 to 2.0.7.13, you must install the new version of the Trap Editor plugin manually, according to the installation instructions in the readme.txt for 2.0.7.9. If you are installing 2.0.7.14 or greater, the trapper plugin will be installed automatically by the CAU, and will not require manual installation. Permanent fix: Prinergy 2.0 |
