Symptoms |
1) The AraxiSysStateBackup service is failing to start on one or several secondary servers during the system backup with the error messages shown. 2) The NTBackup log file on the secondary servers appears to be truncated in the middle of the backup. |

Cause |
The system backup script on the primary server attempts to stop the AraxiSysStateBackup service on the secondary server and then start the AraxiSysStateBackup service. When the stop service request is sent to the Service Control Manager on the secondary server, the script does not wait for any return value, before it sends the start service request. In some cases, the start service request arrives at the secondary server before the stop service request. The stop service request then stops the service, terminating the system state backup of the secondary. | |
