Symptoms |
On a non-English Mac OS 9.x system, the TrapEditor cannot access the licencing dongle after installing Workshop client. |
Cause |
Extensions required to access the dongle assume that the System folder is always called "System". This is not always true. On the German version of OS 9.x, the System folder is called "Systemordner". The installer creates a "System" folder containing an "Extensions" folder on these systems, and places the two required extension there. |
Solution |
Move the two extensions from the "System:Extensions" path to the correct system extensions folders. The two files are called RainbowUSBShim and USBSentinel. For example, on German systems, copy them to the "Systemordner:Systemerweiterungen" folder. Delete the "System" and "Extensions" folders when done. Permanent fix: |
