Symptoms |
1) The Oracle datafiles are created in non-standard folder locations. 2) During the 2.1.0.0 major update, the upgrade fails while attempting to create the SYSTMP2 tablespace. |

Cause |
The major update attempts to create the datafile for the SYSTMP2 tablespace in the folder \Orant\Oracle\SortSpace\TMP2CREO.ORA in the same folder as TMP1CREO.ORA. However, when searching for the location of TMP1CREO.ORA, it was assumed the folder path would always be <drive>:\Orant\Oracle\SortSpace\TMP1CREO.ORA. If the datafile is installed in a different folder or the Orant folder is not at the root of the drive, the script will fail when it attempts to create the SYSTMP2 tablespace. | |

Create the folder \Orant\Oracle\SortSpace at the root of the drive where the TMP1CREO.ORA file resides. Permanent fix: |
