Symptoms |
After upgrading to Prinergy 2.1, files which took only seconds to refine in Prinergy 2.0.7, are now taking a long time to refine. The job history shows the bulk of the time is spent during optimizing. The slow performance only occurs when the job volume is on a secondary server or tertiary where the optimizer JTP is not on the same server as the job volume. Services for Mac cannot set the type and creator for the PDF file. | |

Solution |
Repair the SFM index on the job volume or disable the setting of the type and creator during optimize. (If you disable the setting of the type/creator during optimize, you will not be able to open the PDF files on the Mac unless you set up a file association for the PDF files on each Mac.) To repair the Mac volume index: 1. Open a command prompt window on the server where the Mac volume resides. 2. Enter: DIR > J:\Jobs:AFP_IdIndex (assuming the Mac volume is the J:\Jobs folder.) 3. Re-boot the server. If you wish to disable the setting of the type/creator for the PDF files: 1. Open REGEDT32 2. Go to the key HKLM\Software\Creo\Araxi\Settings\Default\REFN\ 3. Set the value - DisableMacTypeAndCreator to 1. 4. Restart the Optimizer JTPs. 5. Set up the file association for PDF files on every Mac workstation. (Control Panels -> File Exchange -> Associations) Permanent fix: |
