Error |
The procedure entry point SnmpUtilOctetsFree could not be located in the dynamic link library snmpapi.dll |
Symptoms |
When the server starts up after a reboot, the error "The procedure entry point SnmpUtilOctetsFree could not be located in the dynamic link library snmpapi.dll" pops up. The server is running Windows 2000 SP3. |
Cause |
The snmpapi.dll is installed in a Dell folder under Program Files (the exact path is \Program files\Dell\OpenManage\IT Assistant\bin). This version does not get upgraded when SP3 is applied. | |
Solution |
The error message can safely be deleted and you can proceed normally. To prevent the error message from reappearing, you can rename the snmpapi.dll within the \Program files\Dell\OpenManage\IT Assistant\bin folder. Permanent fix: |
