Error |
Z 08Jul04 14:07:05.125-PDT [11264.5496] PASSAT ARAXI PNormalizerJTP iENOR_NServerCallbacks.cpp(653): Normalizer server fatal error: Out of memory! |
Symptoms |
Customer is running Prinergy 2.3 or higher. Normalizing slows down significantly over a period of time and eventually gets an out of memory error. The normalizer could slow down after a few files have been processed or it may take several hours of processing files before the normalizer slows down. The jobs typically have one or more font search paths. |
Cause |
The normalizer is continuously re-reading the fonts within the font search path(s) which is slowing down the normalizer. This happens if there are duplicate fonts within the font folder. That is, two or more font files contain the same font name (/FullName parameter). |
Solution |
Remove any duplicate fonts from each font search path using the python script FindDuplicateFonts.cmd 1) Copy the script to the server 2) If you wish to run the script on one font search path, - enter: FindDuplicateFonts.cmd <font_path> -M OR: If you want to check all font search paths in the system, - enter: FindDuplicateFonts.cmd -M 3) The script will create a folder FontDuplicates1 within the font folder and move all the duplicates found into it. If there are two or more duplicates for a font, the second duplicate will go into FontDuplicates2, the third in FontDuplicates3, etc. Non-Prinergy fonts such as Mac fonts will be moved into a subfolder called FontNonPrinergy. 4) After the font have been moved, you must add the FontDuplicatesN folder(s) as a search paths to all affected jobs. Example: To display a list of duplicate fonts: - D:\> FindDuplicateFonts.cmd J:\Jobs\MyFonts To move all duplicate fonts out of the font search path: - D:\> FindDuplicateFonts.cmd J:\Jobs\MyFonts -M To move all duplicate fonts out of all the font search paths in the entire system: - D:\> FindDuplicateFonts.cmd -M Permanent fix: |
