Symptoms

You wish to print out the history from the database into a text file.

Cause

Solution

Use the Python script Histlog.cmd.

This script will print out the history to the screen in chronological order. To save it to a text file, redirect the output to a file.

Usage:

HISTLOG.CMD -from <beginning date/time> -to <ending date/time> [-job <jobname>] [-action] [-detail] [-delim <delimiter>] [-h]

E.g.

HISTLOG -from "10 Sep 2004 00:00:00" -to "20 Sep 2004 23:59:59"

To redirect to a text file:

HISTLOG -from "10 Sep 2004 00:00:00" -to "20 Sep 2004 23:59:59" > History_from_Sep10_To_Sep20-2004.txt

The text file can be imported into Excel.
