Symptoms |
Prinergy or Director is installed on the C: drive and while system backup is running, the database crashes. The ctl1creo.ora or any one of the Log1creo.ora-Log6creo.ora files cannot be written. |
Cause |
System Backup is backing up these Oracle files and locking them when Oracle is attempting to write to the files. | |
Solution |
Exclude the C:\Orant\MirroredControlFile\*.ora and C:\Orant\Oracle\MirroredOnLineLogFiles\*.ora database files from the backup. 1) Start NTBackup 2) In Tools -> Options -> Exclude Files, add C:\Orant\MirroredControlFile\*.ora and C:\Orant\Oracle\MirroredOnLineLogFiles\*.ora . 3) Have an Oracle expert recover the database.
