Symptoms |
The Prinergy server has two network cards, one network card attaches to the network, and the second network card attaches to the GMCE card in the output device. When attempting to log into the primary server in Workshop, it crashes immediately with a Corba error. No errors appear in diagview. If the system has a secondary server, the daemons on the secondary server will not be able to connect to the primary. |

Cause |
The ip address of the network card connected to the GMCE card is being stored in the Orbacus registry. | |

Solution |
To force Prinergy to use the network card connected to the network: 1) Go to My Network Places -> Properties to open the Network Connections dialog box. 2) In Network Connections, go to Advanced -> Advanced Settings. Make sure the local area connection that Prinergy uses is first (on top of the list). 3) Open Regedit. 4) In Regedit, go to the registry key HKLM\Software\OOC\Properties\ooc\imr and change the ip address in the three values found to the ip address that Prinergy uses. e.g.: admin_endpoint (REG_SZ): "iiop --port 49100 --host 10.1.64.197" forward_endpoint (REG_SZ): "iiop --port 49101 --host 10.1.64.197" slave_endpoint (REG_SZ): "iiop --port 49102 --host 10.1.64.197" 5) Go to the registry key HKLM\Software\OOC\Properties\ooc\orb\oa and change the ip address in the value found to the ip address that Prinergy uses. Start Prinergy e.g. endpoint (REG_SZ): "iiop --host 10.1.64.197" 6) Re-enable the other network cards. 7) The CheckNetworkConfig.cmd utility which runs during Prinergy startup will change the binding order of the network cards and request a reboot. 8) Reboot the system. 8) Start Prinergy.
