Symptoms |
If the server running Prinergy 3.1.0.x has two network cards - one network card for Prinergy the other for the GMCE controlled output device, the UADM processes window may appear blank. Also, UADM may hang for a long time after it is launched. |

Cause |
UADM in Prinergy 3.1.0 is using multicasts to connect to Araxi.exe and depending upon the binding order, UADM may be sending the multicasts to the wrong network card. UADM is sending the multicasts to the first network card it finds in the binding order. This is not an issue in Prinergy 3.0 or 4.0 because UADM in these versions are not using multicasts for communications. |

Solution |
Move the Prinergy network card up so it is first in the binding order. 1) Open Network and Dialup Connections. (My Network Places -> Properties) 2) Under Advanced -> Advanced Settings -> Adapters And Bindings, ensure the Prinergy NIC is first. Select the Prinergy NIC and move it up using the arrow buttons to the right if necessary. 3) Click OK to close the Advanced Settings dialog box. 4) Disable all other network cards. In My Network Places -> Properties, disable all non-Prinegy network cards. Do NOT disable the Prinergy NIC. 5) Re-enable all network cards. 6) Open a command prompt window and run CheckNetworkConfig.cmd 7) Reboot the system. 8) Restart UADM Permanent fix: |
