Or,

The AraxiBackupManager, AraxiFileReplicator or the AraxiSysStateBackup services fails to start and gets the error shown.

Cause

The registry value: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\SubSystems\Windows was changed. The registry value should contain the string "SharedSection=1024,3072,1024" or "SharedSection=1024,3072,1024,512". If it shows some other value for the third number

such as "SharedSection=1024,3072,2048,512", you may see the symptoms mentioned above.

Solution

Change the third number in the registry value to 1024.

1) Start Regedit and go to the registry key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\SubSystems.

2) Double-click on the value "Windows".

3) Scroll through the data until you locate the string "SharedSection=". Note, the parameter will contain 3 or 4 sets of numbers.

4) Change the third number to be 1024. e.g. SharedSection=1024,3072,1024,512.

5) Save the changed value.
