Symptoms |
Your DCS images containing CMYK 0,0,0,0 areas are scaled between 40 and 50%. When final output is created, very small dots of CMYK appear in areas that should have no CMYK. These dots can be in the form of dotted lines or can appear as an overall screen. |

Cause |
Caused by Adobe Downsampler, which is invoked by PostScript input into Normalizer. | |

||
Solution |
1. In the Refine Process Plan, uncheck "Resample" of Color Images under Optimize. Images will not be downsampled and final output will not contain scum dots. 2. Change Registry Key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Creo\Araxi\Settings\Default\ENOR\<NormalizerJTPName>\DownsampleImagesInNormalizerServer" to 0. This will turn off the Adobe downsampler, and will run the data through the Creo downsampler. This solves the problem but Refine times will be longer. Permanent fix: |
