Error |
"Found Device CMYK color space" |
Symptoms |
Refiner reports error "Found DeviceCMYK color space". If the resulting PDF is opened in Adobe Acrobat, each page has a large "X" across it. The page that should contain the spot color separation instead contains a low-resolution composite version of all colors. . To reproduce the problem: A DCS control file containing references to spot color(s) is placed in QuarkXPress. Thin separated PostScript is poured and refined in Prinergy using a process plan including OPI. |
Cause |
When an image containing a spot color is imported into QuarkXPress, if the spot color ends with "CVC", QuarkXPress will truncate this to "CV". When PostScript is poured and sent through OPI, the "CV" color will not be found because the name of the color is actually "CVC". If the DCS control file contains printable proof data, this will be merged instead of the missing spot separation. | |

Solution |
In QuarkXPress, change the name of the spot color in the Edit Color dialog so that it matches the name in the DCS control file. Permanent fix: |
