Symptoms |
Depending on where the mapping is done, the page content, and the type of mapping requested, the symptoms may be as follows: 1. An error message: Illegal color aliasing: DeviceN color space uses color {0} more than once.[1070130] 2. Incorrect mapping results. For example, too many spot colors rendering as process colors, or spot or process colors disappearing. |

Cause |
CT/LW pages may have incorrect spot color names, or the color requirements for a job may have changed since the CT/LW pages were created. The operator may wish to map spot colors to other spot colors, to process colors, or to an alias. . The CEPS JTP produces PDF pages that use DeviceN color spaces. The PDF 1.3 Specification limits the functions that can be performed on objects defined with a DeviceN color space. These limitations affect what color mapping functions can be performed on these objects. |

Solution |
The best solution is to make sure that the CT/LW pages brought into Prinergy have their spot colors defined correctly. Tools such as Creo's PressTouch and Remake can be used to accomplish this. . If the colors defined in the PDF are correct for plating purposes, but a CMYK proof is required, in the output Process Plan, set the "Output Separation Handling" option to "Convert Separations to Process". DO NOT use the "Edit color separations" function in the Edit menu. Permanent fix: |
