Symptoms |
Incoming PS files appear to not have any ICC profiles embedded even though the images have profiles embedded by Photoshop. |
Cause |
PostScript does not natively support ICC profiles, i.e. there is no such thing as an ICC-based colorspace like we have in PDF. | |
Solution |
Save .eps out of Photoshop (not TIFF) and make sure that "embed color profile" is checked and "PostScript Color Management" is also checked. If bringing into Quark XPress, make sure color managment is turned OFF. When this file gets refined, a "PostScript CSA Profile" will be generated but if you have the desired profile installed on your system by Acrobat (eg. default profiles), then Prinergy will embed that into the PDF instead. Note that a PostScript CSA Profile is not a complete ICC profile but it's the best we have for now. Permanent fix: |
