Since the AskMe site is not being used anymore, we are bringing back the "Prinergy Frontline" email list.
Old timers might remember this list as a way to enable the distribution of information to those supporting Prinergy in the field, and to provide a forum for front liners to share their experiences, ask for help with problems, and trade solutions.
However, because there are so many people on this email list, abiding by the following guidelines will help to ensure that everyone continues to use the list for its intended purpose and that those on the list continue to find it useful.
Do post problems/experiences you feel others will encounter. If you encountered a problem and were able to solve it, also submit your experience for posting to the Prinergy Knowledge Base by clicking Submit Troubleshooting Info at the top or bottom of this page.
When searching for the solution to a problem you have encountered, try searching the Prinergy Knowledge Base and other bulletins on the Prinergy TechPlanet site before resorting to the Prinergy Frontline email list.
If you start an email thread, you are responsible for closing that thread. Send a summary once your question has been answered, since not everyone follows the complete thread. This way, the knowledge you’ve gained can be shared with the rest of the team.
When sending an email about a problem, be as clear as possible and include versions and all other relevant information.
Don’t post anything that is time sensitive, since you may not get an answer quickly enough. If you need help immediately, log a call with the Response Center.
If you need files tested, log a call with the Response Center; not everyone has access to a Prinergy server and or has time to test files.
If someone is actively working on your case, don’t spam the email list; this is a duplication of effort. Have confidence in the person working on your case.
Don’t include customers in the To or Cc lines of an email. It’s difficult tell who is a Kodak employee and who is a customer. Also, don’t forward emails to customers.
If you don’t get the answer you need after sending out an email, follow the escalation path; the email list is not your only resource.
There are many people on this email list – be politically correct.
Don’t use this email list to submit wish lists/feature requests, since they may not get recorded. Instead, send feature requests to the appropriate member of the Prinergy SME team.
It’s up to everyone to maintain the integrity of this list. If you see someone using it inappropriately, it’s your responsibility as a member to remind them of the above guidelines.
