Error: exceptions.OSError, [Errno 13] Permission denied: 'E:\\ORANT\\ORACLE\\ARCHIVEDLOGFILES\\WHATEVER.ARC',

Symptoms

Error number 13 (Errno 13) appears in the backup logs. If you try to copy, move, or delete the affected files, an access denied message appears.

Cause

A Python bug or limitation that leaves corrupted file handles when a python process stops prematurely. This problem is rare.

Solution

Restart the server.

Note: Restarting is the only way to clear the corrupt handles from the operating system.
