Kodak® Prinergy® 4.0 or later | ||
Symptoms |
PDF files intermittently display the contents of a different PDF file. For example, File2.p1.pdf contains content that should be in File1.p1.pdf. The problem may occur when there are multiple Normalizer JTPs on a system, or when jobs are homed on a Windows volume. |
||
Cause |
The same temporary name is used for multiple files. |
||
Solution |
On the server where the jobs are being homed (either the internal RAID on a Prinergy server, or a Windows tertiary server), do the following steps: Important: If you are not familiar with using the Registry Editor, contact your service representative for help with editing the registry key. If you use the Registry Editor incorrectly, you can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Kodak does not guarantee that problems caused by incorrect use of the Registry Editor can be resolved; use it at your own risk.
Note: There appears to be a relationship between this registry setting and long file names when the files are viewed from a Macintosh computer via an AFP connection. When the NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation setting is enabled, newly-created files that exceed 31 characters in length are no longer visible from the Mac. The files are present and visible from PCs or from Macs using SMB connections to the job volume. Note: This problem appears to be fixed in Prinergy 4.0.2.3 |
