Symptoms

Job creation fails with the above error when using a template that includes impositions.

Cause

The ORACLE_HOME setting in the listener.ora file is incorrect. It will be similar to:

(ORACLE_HOME = \\?\UNC\YCS231-123C$\Oracle\10.2.0)

but may differ slightly from one server to another.

The incorrect Oracle Home setting causes Oracle external procedures to fail. The Prinergy system doesn't use this setting often, so the system can run smoothly for a long time with the incorrect setting.

Solution

Correct the ORACLE_HOME setting in the listener.ora file.

1. Open the listener.ora file in a text editor such as Notepad.
2. Change the Oracle Home setting to:
   ORACLE_HOME = C:\Oracle\10.2.0
3. Modify the drive letter to point to the disk where Oracle resides. This may be C:\ or D:\, depending on how the system was installed.
4. Save the listener.ora file.
5. Restart the server.
