Replication Monitor reports that the replication job status is not connected

Product

Kodak® Prinergy® 3.x, 4.x

Operating system

Microsoft® Windows Server® 2000, 2003

Symptoms

A warning message appears on the primary and failover servers that the replication status is Not connected. The DoubleTake (DT) Management console shows that the replication status is Okay.

When you run the following command from the source server (where the Replication Monitor is running), the target server is listed with its fully qualified domain name:
"%ProgramFiles\DoubleTake\dtcl” CONID list “%computername%"

ConID Target Repset Name
1 cltpss004.pmplimited.com.au (10.21.10.164 : 1100) PrinergyDB

Cause

This problem is related to the DNS server setting. The DoubleTake software detects the fully qualified domain name instead of the NetBIOS name.

Solution

Add the target server to the hosts file of the source server:

  1. On the source server (where the Replication Monitor is running), using Windows Explorer, locate
    %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.
  2. Open the hosts file using Notepad.
  3. Add the target server’s IP address and host name.
  4. Save the file.
