Symptoms

Output from the Adobe® PDF Print Engine RIP fails on the Magnus 800 platesetter and reports an error message. The plate appears to be complete in Prinergy, but part of the image is missing on the plate.
This problem may occur on other output devices.

Cause

The cause may be due to Adobe changing how the PDF Print Engine RIP calculates image size. The exact cause is currently under investigation.

Solution

Either restart the affected Printer JTP (from the JTP Status window in the Prinergy Evo Client software) or restart Prinergy and then apply one of the following solutions:

  • Change the plate size in the Magnus 800 Controller software. Set the unit of measurement to inches and change the plate size slightly. The error appears to occur with certain plate sizes. For example, if you change the plate size from 40.51181 X 31.49607 to 40.5 X 31.5, the error does not occur.
  • Output the job using the Adobe CPSI RIP.

This problem will be fixed in Prinergy 4.0.2.2.
