Symptoms |
Occasionally, some PDF files do not appear in the subpages folder when you expect them. This occurs only when you are connected from a Macintosh computer share via AFP. This is not a problem with computers running Microsoft Windows operating system software. For example, on a Mac computer, 11 files may appear in the subpages folder, while on a Windows computer, 18 files appear in the subpages folder. The missing files appear in the subpages folder several hours later than expected, or when you copy and paste them into the subpages folder from a Windows computer. |
||
Cause |
The system time of the primary server on which the JobVolume resides was 10 minutes behind the system time of the Mac computer. It appears that when an operator modifies a PDF file on a Mac computer, the file retains the time stamp of the Mac computer. The file does not appear in the subpages folder when expected because the AFP database thinks that the file resides in the future. |

Solution |
Change the system time of the primary server so that it is the same as the Mac computer, or even 10 minutes ahead. |
