Oracle database fails to install on Dell PowerEdge server and reports an error message

Error

   %System%\Temp attribute is Hidden

Symptoms

   Oracle® database fails to install.

Cause

   Running Dell Support Update Utilities (SUU) v5.3 causes the %System%\Temp folder to become hidden. Dell is investigating the problem.

Solution

  

  1. Stop all open applications.
  2. Stop the DSM SA Connection Service.
  3. Rename the C:\Temp folder to C:\Tmp.
  4. Create a new C:\Temp folder.
  5. Restart the server.
  6. Delete the C:\Tmp folder.
