Symptoms

The user tries to start Prinergy Workshop. The splash screen and logon screen appear, but immediately close and the error message appears.

Workshop may start correctly on other computers, and reinstalling Workshop doesn’t fix the problem.

Note: If a Prinergy upgrade has been done, the user may be asked to accept a license agreement before the splash screen appears.

Cause

Workshop points to a primary server that is no longer on the network. The user cannot select a different server because the Workshop logon screen is unavailable.

Solution

Prinergy Workshop stores the name and IP address of the last primary server it connected to in the Login properties file.

You can perform either of the following workarounds:

  • Delete the Login properties file and start Workshop again to recreate it.
    1. On the client computer, locate C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Creo\Workshop.
    2. Delete the Login.props file.
    3. Start Workshop.
  • Edit the Login properties file to contain the correct server name and IP address.
    1. On the client computer, locate C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Creo\Workshop.
    2. Open the Login.props file in Notepad.
    3. Locate UWSP.DefaultHomeServer and UWSP.DefaultHomeServerIPAddress, and change the values to the correct server name and IP address.
    4. Start Workshop.
