Drive security permissions cannot be modified on a Hot Standby with VSR server [ID: 82171]

Product

Kodak® Prinergy® Connect™, versions 2.x, 3.x, and 4.x

Operating system

Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Server

Symptoms

When you click the Security tab in a drive's root Properties dialog box, the message You only have permission to view the current security permission on <drive name (letter)> appears.

On the Security tab, all the permission check boxes are unavailable. You cannot change the permissions.

Cause

The Veritas Storage Replicator™ (VSR) software is preventing any change to the drive's root security settings.

Solution

  1. On the failover server where this problem is occurring, stop the Storage Replicator RSA service.
  2. In Windows Explorer, right-click the drive's root, and select Properties.
  3. On the Security tab, modify the security permissions as needed, and click OK.
  4. Start the Storage Replicator RSA service.
