Product |
Kodak® Prinergy® Connect, versions 3.1 or later |
||
Symptoms |
When files are output using the Adobe® Configurable PostScript Interpreter (CPSI) 3017 RIP, any text that is tagged with the None colorant renders as white knockout, even though the text is not visible when viewed in Adobe Acrobat. Note: The problem should not occur when using APPE. |
||
Cause |
The Adobe CPSI 3017 CPSI RIP does not handle the None colorant correctly. Adobe recently added code that is intended to support the None colorant, but it actually causes some files with shading elements to fail with PostScript errors when they are RIPed. The Prinergy development team fixed this problem using the FixColorantNone registry setting, but this caused another problem where objects with the color "NONE" render as white knockouts. Since only a few customers reported RIP PostScript errors, disabling the FixColorantNone registry setting should be adequate for customers with the None colorant problem. |
||
Solution |
Disable the registry setting FixColorantNone.
